Well it has been a crazy week...I have recently been under the weather so I was unable to complete my blog posts last week so I will be continuing them this week...
I was checking out my blog reading list and came upon a new challenge on Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog. It was to create something for Mother's Day... Well, I really hadn't thought much of what you would create for Mother's Day... My children are busy creating a surprise {CTMH 12-Month Calendar} for me at preschool, my teen is not really into the whole giving mom anything anymore...and my husband asked me to make him a card for myself...so I don't get upset when he buys me a $10 card from a store...lol!
I decided I love the 6 x 6 Kraft Die Cut Card/Envelope set and would try to make something with that. I chose to use the Lucy paper and create a beautiful card. I really didn't have a clear idea or plan for this card but think it really came together...
I added a ribbon and bow, some sparkles and Bitty Bud Assortment. I used the Keepsake Felt Alphabet and spelled out 'Mom'
Inside I folded the flap and bound it to the inside using some Waxy Flax and simple X stitches. This creates a pocket for a note or gift card...perhaps a gift certificate from your local CTMH consultant. I added several jewels and added a couple pieces of paper to the inside.
To cover the stitches on the back of the card I placed a stripe of paper onto the back of the card. I also used a portion of one of the zip stripes to add to the paper and make it really look decorative and placed with purpose.
This card has been submitted for the Heart 2 Heart Challenges and I hope that you have enjoyed and might consider playing too!

Very nice card, love the pocket for a "ctmh" gift certificate or any gift card! Thanks for joining us at Heart 2 Heart this week!
ReplyDeleteI know it is one of the many hints I have put out there for gift ideas...so I thought might as well just put it right out there and say what crafty women really want! lol!
DeleteI love the way you used the Kraft card with the scallop on the inside for a pocket. VERY creative.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
Gail
I have done this previously with a sympathy card using the Kraft cards. I love the idea of being able to include a spot for sharing something special with the person who will receive the card!
DeleteInside Out - Outside In - isn't it great to look at things in different ways? I'm so glad you shared this idea with us on H2H!
ReplyDeleteGreat card, love how you grouped your embellishments. Thanks for playing with us at H2H!
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I struggle with is keeping the embellishments to a minimum...I love Bling and have to work hard at keeping it simple!
DeleteVery pretty! I like how you turned the flap into a pocket. Your hubby sounds like mine. LOL Thanks for joining us at H2H!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of turning the flap to the inside of the card! Thanks for the tip, love the card!
